Austyn Gillette likes a hot steaming bowl of Pho when the weather is brisk. He’s young and he’s a happening dude. We’ve known about this story for a while now. His 1099 was actually faxed from these here offices weeks ago. Austyn Gillette is now in a group of model caliber looking gents – The Quicksilver skate team. Congrats to young Austyn. If you knew what we know about his skateboarding abilities, you’d let him walk all over you too, just as this author has done. Just another part of the glamour. Congrats to Austyn. Oh yeah, to add to the resume’ he actually made the song that this footage is set to. These kids these days are pretty ambitious.

In other Austyn news… Young Gillette recently returned from a New York trip with John Fool, Chikami and Tim O’Connor. Since recently suffering a severly sprained ankle not much skating was accomplished for the young lad, however he did collect some great images and they should be on  his Flickr soon.

This kid cannot be stopped. In his pursuit of adulthood our very own, Young Austyn, has just recently put a down payment on a puppy. He’s going with a pure bred shiba inu – a Japanese breed. Similar in appearance to Akita but much smaller in stature. Kind of like Austyn himself. Shibas are generally independent and intelligent dogs. A spirited boldness, a good nature, and an unaffected forthrightness, which together yield dignity and natural beauty. The Shiba has an independent nature and can be reserved toward strangers but is loyal and affectionate to those who earn his respect. At times aggressive toward other dogs. Will he pull the trigger and be the proud owner of a dog? We’ll keep you posted. What’s next for Young Austyn? Record Deal? Condo? Summer Cottage? Arigato!

Hot damn! John Fool is back and all is right in this little piece of the universe. Morse Code – Episode 5 (Air Boot / Crystal Ankles) is a banger. It just goes to show what a little time spent in a soft cast will do to a person. John Fool even makes a special appearance in this one. Is your footage pre ankle break – John? The world would like to know. This especially tight episode features almost the entire Liberty Boardshop am squad. Habitat Skateboards quietly dropped their new web site this past week. It’s good and deserves to be checked out. They also incorporated some new video (a la’ Field Log stylee). We were beginning to wonder if the Field Log was ever going to come back – that was one of our favorite things on the internet. Our very own Austyn Gillette and Stefan Janoski have a bunch of new footage featured on the new site. The skating is tight and makes you wonder about the footage that they didn’t use for these web clips. The new kid Marius Syvanen is looking like a way legit addition to their already heavy roster.

The hottest thing in skateboarding returns and this time it’s up to us, the skate rats that have computers, to decide on who goes to the battle. It’s the Battle At The Berrics 2 and this time you can vote on who competes! Who’s going to be the next Benny Fairfax? Who’s going to come down with a bizarre skin disease and get disqualified? Who’s going to come – not so correct? Who knows! Here’s the deal – go to the Berrics web site and cast your vote for your favorite skaters and make sure to include the dudes from the Liberty Boardshop squadron – even young Butters made the list. You can vote for a total of 32 soldiers to go heads up.
