Vans Downtown Showdown Review
A week later is better than not posting anything at all – right? Special thanks to Vans Shoes’ very own Blacky for bestowing upon us exclusive tickets to this remarkable event. However, we did not make it – there were spirit animals to be found, and music to be listened to in the vast desert lands of Joshua Tree. We ended up sending a couple ringers to the contest – in the form of three very lovely ladies (we thought this to be of a greater contribution to the event). Notable quotes from our female correspondents include:
“Damn I wish I would have watched at least some of the skating…”
“I got caught snapping a photo of Kenny Anderson.”
You might want to check Transworld for more thorough coverage. It’s thorough.
Now for the real event review:

The whole experience was of mind expanding epic proportions. Great event, unreal venue, great show. Bravo. Bravo. Check the photos they aren’t all that inspiring – guess you had to be there. Several crew members have pointed out that there has been an omission as to how cold and harsh the weather was. Just happy to be alive guys. Special thanks to Karol “How was the show?”, Toby “it was actually super hot in the van” , Tyler “I think someone pissed on my tent while I was sleeping”. Good times guys, good times.

i was there, and this is true. but you didn’t mention to the people how cold it was.
over all it sounds like you guys ended up inside some kind of David Lynch-high desert freak-out… which is so awesome that it’s giving me heartburn, I think.
What, no mention of the super secret after party at the campfire stage? For those that may have missed it, there was the most killerest Johnny Cash remixes with extra bass and a glitchy hand clap goin down at the plush campgrounds.
